Ledger

After journalizing is ledger account, a ledger account is a collection of set of accounts. It is the chief books of account or secondary record. The ledger account will have two sides.
1. Debit
2. Credit




Trial Balance

A Trial Balance can be defined as a "statement of Balance or Total of Debits and Credits of all accounts is the ledger on a particular date prepared to test the arithmetical accuracy of the books kept under Double Entry System".
If the totals of the Debits and Credits amount columns of the Trial Balance are equal it is presumed that the posting to ledger accounts in terms of Debit and Credit amounts is accurate.
